A Very Big Thank You!

It can be very difficult understanding young children with language disorders.  The link below provides a video by Krista Blessing describing techniques she uses in the classroom to assist her students with language disorders.

" A child's life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark."
-Robert A. Heinlein

"The child must know that he is a miracle that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him."
-Pablo Casals
"Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression."
-Dr. Haim Ginott

Thank you Thelma, Stephanie, Rola, Felecia, Valerie, Sheila, Lachelle, Shala, Mekesha, Todd and Destiny for sharing your experiences which opened up my mind to new information and concerns about our young children today.  The more informed I am about the issues and situations impacting families with young children, the more effective I can become as an early childhood educator.

Thank you again and I look forward to working with you next semester!

  1. I like how the quote about a child's life is like a piece of paper and that a child's life is like wet cement. They correspond and show how impactful a child's life is and how important it is for everyone in their lives to reach out to them and share their knowledge.

  4. I have enjoyed learning from you during EDUC6160. You have shared a wealth of information that pertains to the development of children that has made me stop and think. I have to agree with your quote:

"Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression."-Dr. Haim Ginott

This quote is very true. Children are impressionable human beings, therefore we have to make sure that they what we say and do is of a positive nature.

  5. I really enjoyed reading your quotes. I truly liked the one about the child being a miracle. I try to make sure that my children know this about themselves. I want them to know that they are each unique and it is this uniqueness that makes them special because God created them to be just who they are and not like anyone else. That is the TRUE miracle. Thank you for your post!
